The Confederation of African Football (CAF), in partnership with Morocco’s Local Organising Committee, has announced items banned from all AFCON 2025 stadiums to ensure a safe and family-friendly tournament.
Key restrictions include:
No alcohol or illegal substances
No laser pointers
No weapons, sharp objects, or pyrotechnics
No glass bottles, cans, or oversized bags
No banners with political, religious, or offensive messages
CAF says the laser pointer ban follows repeated incidents of players being distracted during matches, calling it “a serious safety risk and a form of cheating.”
Alcohol sales and consumption will also be prohibited in line with Moroccan law and international safety standards.
These measures are part of a broader security plan to guarantee a secure, well-organized event as Africa’s biggest football stars, including Mohamed Salah, Victor Osimhen, and Achraf Hakimi, gear up for AFCON 2025 this December.
