Barcelona icon Sergio Busquets has taken the first step into coaching after returning to the club where he built his legendary career.
The 38-year-old has joined Barça Atlètic, Barcelona’s reserve side, as an Assistant Coach in Spain’s fourth tier. Busquets will work alongside head coach Juliano Belletti this season while completing his coaching qualifications.
Busquets first arrived at Barcelona as a teenager in 2005 and made 25 appearances for the reserve team before establishing himself as a key figure in the senior squad. 
The former Spain international left Barcelona in 2023 to join Inter Miami and retired from professional football in 2025. He now begins a new chapter back at the club where it all started.
