Ikorodu City’s Technical Adviser, Bright Ozebagbe, pointed to carelessness as the main reason behind his team’s heavy loss to Bendel Insurance.
The Oga Boys fell 4-0 away at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City on Sunday. Alex Oweilayefa stole the show with a brilliant hat-trick for the Benin Arsenals, while Wisdom Udom added the fourth goal.
The result brought an end to Ikorodu City’s impressive three-game unbeaten streak. 
Ozebagbe remained composed and forward-looking, acknowledging the errors while emphasizing improvement ahead.
“We were sloppy, and we had chances but we failed to capitalise on them,” Ozebagbe told Platinum News.
“We will try to correct that area that we found ourselves wanting in the game.
“We are not under pressure to win the league; we just want to try as much as possible to stay in the race.”
Despite the setback, Ikorodu City remain competitive, sitting in third place on the NPFL table with 45 points from 28 matches.
The team is determined to bounce back stronger in the next fixtures.
