Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk has acknowledged the financial weight of Victor Osimhen’s deal, noting that the striker’s salary alone could “build a complete team.”
Buruk made the remark while discussing the club’s rising spending on transfers and wages over the past year.
Osimhen joined Galatasaray permanently last summer after a strong loan spell from Napoli, with the Turkish champions activating his €75 million release clause despite competition from Premier League and Saudi clubs. The Nigerian forward now earns €15 million annually, plus bonuses, on a four-year contract. 
Speaking after Galatasaray’s 3–1 win over Istanbulspor in the Turkish Cup, Buruk highlighted the need for financial discipline.
“Galatasaray’s transfer fees and salaries have been going up since last year. With Osimhen’s transfer fee and salary, you could probably put together a full team,” he said, via the club’s official website.
“We need to take these things into account. We brought in some very important players… but every team has a budget, and you need to follow that budget closely.”
With a Super Lig match against Rizespor approaching, Buruk also explained that Osimhen was rested for Wednesday’s cup game.
