NPFL Sanction Wikki Tourists for Violation of League Framework and Rules.

The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) has sanctioned Wikki Tourists following multiple violations of the league’s Framework and Rules during their recent home match against Katsina United last Sunday.

The Bauchi-based club was found to have failed to provide adequate security, allowing unauthorized individuals into restricted stadium areas. Supporters engaged in unsporting behavior, including throwing dangerous objects (such as stones) onto the pitch, harassing match officials, and intimidating the visiting Katsina United team. These incidents led to injuries, medical costs, and the loss of the referee’s whistle.

Key sanctions include:

– ₦1 million fine for conduct bringing the game into disrepute

– Additional ₦2 million fine for unlawfully detaining match officials and the away team post-match, which caused an 18-minute delay
