Trabzonspor are set to return with an improved offer for Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare as they intensify efforts to secure his signature this summer.
The Turkish Super Lig side is seeking a replacement for Augusto, who recently joined Zenit in a deal worth €15 million plus €5 million in add-ons. Arokodare has emerged as one of their primary targets.
Italian club Fiorentina have reportedly dropped out of the race after using up their non-EU player quota with the signing of Christ Inao Oulai. However, competition remains strong, with Genoa said to have joined the pursuit of the Nigerian forward. 
Trabzonspor are expected to submit a new bid after Wolverhampton Wanderers rejected their initial approach. The English club are reportedly holding out for a fee above €20 million.
Negotiations between Trabzonspor, Wolverhampton, and Arokodare are set to continue, with reports suggesting the Turkish club has already reached a preliminary agreement with the striker. The 25-year-old is also believed to be open to the move after discussions with fellow Nigerian international Paul Onuachu.
Trabzonspor could propose a loan deal with an option to buy as they look to finalize an agreement. Arokodare remains under contract until 2029 and currently carries an estimated market value of €20 million.
The Nigerian forward enjoyed a prolific spell at Genk, scoring 23 goals in 39 appearances last season before completing a €24 million move to Wolverhampton. Since arriving in England, he has registered six goals in 38 appearances for Wolves.
