Rivers United have strengthened their squad with the signing of striker Samson Olasupo from reigning Nigeria Premier Football League champions Remo Stars.
The forward becomes one of the latest additions to Finidi George’s team as preparations continue for the 2026/27 NPFL season. Olasupo will also reunite with former Remo Stars teammates Alex Oyowah and Ekene Awazie at the Port Harcourt-based club.
Rivers United are set to begin their league campaign with a home fixture against Plateau United in Port Harcourt on Sunday, August 30. 
The Pride of Rivers finished second in the NPFL last season and will be aiming for a strong title challenge in the new campaign.
