The reason behind Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali’s decision to submit a transfer request to Chippa United has been revealed.
Chippa United had reportedly demanded R6.8 million from Tanzanian side Simba SC for the Nigerian shot‑stopper a few weeks ago, but the move stalled due to internal concerns within the club. Head coach Steve Barker was said to be against the transfer, especially with Nwabali having just six months left on his contract — a situation that complicated both negotiations and valuation.
Sources within the club indicate that Nwabali later submitted a formal request to leave, expressing his desire for a new challenge and more clarity regarding his future. After internal discussions, the club accepted his request, clearing the way for his departure. 
This development marks the end of Nwabali’s time with the Chilli Boys, as he is now expected to leave the club as a free agent and begin a new chapter in his career.
