Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi made history on Monday as his side secured a 3–1 Premier League victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
The Nigerian international scored twice to seal all three points for Forest, while teammate Igor Jesus also found the net for the visitors.
Awoniyi’s opening goal, scored inside the first two minutes, has been reported as one of the fastest away goals ever conceded by Chelsea in the Premier League in recent seasons. It is also the quickest goal against the Blues since December 2013, when Southampton’s Jay Rodriguez scored after just 13 seconds.
Awoniyi will now turn his attention to Nottingham Forest’s Europa League semi-final return leg against Aston Villa on Thursday.
