Glasner Explains Limited Game Time for Christantus Uche at Crystal Palace.

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has clarified why Nigeria international Christantus Uche has seen limited action since joining the club on loan from Getafe CF.

According to Glasner, the situation was shaped by squad registration rules rather than any personal disagreement with the midfielder.

“For me, I never blame the player for some things. This stays internal. Uche wasn’t registered for the second part of the Conference League. I had a conversation with him, and he wasn’t pleased with it,” Glasner said.

The Palace boss explained that the decision was influenced by new signings and expectations around player fitness at the time.

“I had to take a decision due to the rules. We had new signings coming in. Honestly, if I had known that Eddie Nketiah wouldn’t get fit, Uche would have been registered.”

Glasner added that the club believed Eddie Nketiah was close to returning from injury when the registration list was submitted.

“At that moment, we thought Eddie was close to returning. We had Strand Larsen, Brennan Johnson, Mateta and Eddie Nketiah. This was the reason, and from that day he felt that I don’t like him,” he said.

He concluded by stressing there were no personal issues involved.

“There was nothing personal. I like him as a person, but again I had to take a decision.”
