Ademola Lookman’s deadline‑day move from Atalanta to Atletico Madrid has continued to generate excitement, with former Nigerian international Yakubu Aiyegbeni backing the player to succeed in Spain.
Yakubu, speaking in an interview with Africa Foot, said he always expected Lookman to leave Atalanta this winter and expressed pride in seeing him join a major European club. According to him, Lookman has earned the right to play at the highest level and has plenty to offer Atletico.
Lookman leaves Atalanta after three and a half impressive seasons, during which he scored 55 goals and provided 27 assists in 137 appearances across all competitions—firmly establishing himself as one of Europe’s standout attacking talents.
