Uganda’s national team, the Cranes, have landed in Morocco to kick off preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where they face a tough group featuring Nigeria, Tunisia, and Tanzania.
A contingent of 17 players, led by Leader of Delegation Dr. Apollo Ahimbisibwe, arrived via Qatar Airways. The group includes head coach Paul Joseph Put, assistant coach Fred Muhumuza, and the full technical crew.
The team will hold an 11-day intensive training camp, featuring two international friendlies to fine-tune tactics and build chemistry ahead of the tournament.
The remaining 13 invited players will join the squad directly from their clubs abroad. Uganda will open their AFCON campaign against Tunisia, followed by clashes with Nigeria and Tanzania in what promises to be a highly competitive group.
