Nottingham Forest secured a vital 2-0 victory against Brentford on Sunday, extending their unbeaten run to three Premier League games and moving five points clear of the relegation zone.
Igor Jesus opened the scoring with a classy first-half finish, while Taiwo Awoniyi netted his first league goal in over a year after recovering from a serious abdominal injury last season.
Forest boss Sean Dyche was full of praise for the Nigerian striker:
“Absolutely buzzing. He’s worked hard, trained well, and looked free when he came on. It was a very good finish.”
Dyche also commended Jesus for his persistence:
“He’s been knocking on the door and gets his reward with a fine finish.”
The Reds continue their fight for survival with renewed confidence and team spirit.
