Nigerian international Salim Fago Lawal has completed a move from Croatian side Istra 1961 to Czech champions Viktoria Plzeň.
The club announced that the 19-year-old passed his medical in Plzeň on Monday before signing his contract on Tuesday morning to seal the transfer.
The deal is considered a major milestone for both sides — a historic signing for Viktoria Plzeň and a record sale for Istra 1961 — highlighting Lawal’s rapid rise and growing profile in European football.
Lawal, who has represented Nigeria at under-20 level, was part of the Super Eagles squad at the recent Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, although he did not feature during the tournament.
The versatile forward is expected to join Plzeň’s first team immediately as they prepare for both domestic league fixtures and European competitions.
