Just minutes after their 3-0 loss to Chelsea at the City Ground on Saturday, Nottingham Forest have announced the departure of head coach Ange Postecoglou.
In an official statement released 20 minutes after full-time, the club said:
“Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that after a series of disappointing results and performances, Ange Postecoglou has been relieved of his duties as head coach with immediate effect. The club will make no further comment at this time.”
Postecoglou oversaw eight matches during his tenure, with six ending in defeat. His time in charge included a dramatic Carabao Cup exit to Swansea City, where Forest surrendered a 2-1 lead in stoppage time to lose 3-2. The remaining two fixtures — against Burnley (Premier League) and Real Betis (Europa League) — ended in draws.
