Nigeria’s Rivers United have been drawn into Group A of the CAF Champions League, alongside defending champions Pyramids SC (Egypt), RS Berkane (Morocco), and Power Dynamos (Zambia).
The draw was conducted at the SuperSport studios in Johannesburg on Monday.
This marks Rivers United’s first-ever appearance in the group stage of the prestigious tournament. The team, led by Finidi George, secured their spot after a 3-1 aggregate victory over Mozambique’s Black Bulls.
Pyramids SC are the reigning champions, having clinched their maiden title last season.
RS Berkane are seasoned contenders in African football, though they’ve yet to win the title.
Power Dynamos previously reached the quarter-finals back in 1985.
