Idah to Okonkwo: National Team Is a Different Test.

Former Nigeria international Peterside Idah has urged newly cleared goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo to make every Super Eagles call-up count, stressing that strong club form alone is not enough at international level.

Following FIFA’s approval of Okonkwo’s switch of allegiance to Nigeria, Idah cautioned that the demands of playing for the national team are vastly different.

“He still has to prove himself. Being good for your club is quite different from playing for Nigeria,” Idah said.

“I’ve seen many players excel at club level but struggle with the national team. It’s a different ball game entirely.”

Okonkwo, who currently plays for Wrexham AFC, is expected to battle for a spot in the Super Eagles as Nigeria prepares for upcoming international fixtures.
