Osimhen: “I Can Score Against Any Team” After Derby Heroics.

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has expressed strong belief in his ability to deliver against any opponent after playing a decisive role in Galatasaray’s victory over rivals Fenerbahçe in the Istanbul derby.

Fresh from recovering from a fractured arm, Osimhen opened the scoring just before halftime after connecting with a pass from Mario Lemina.

Speaking after the match, the forward praised Galatasaray’s medical team for their role in his recovery, highlighting both the physical care and mental support he received.

“I thank Dr. Yener and the medical team. They did their job very well,” Osimhen said, according to Fanatik. “I couldn’t return 100%, but they prepared me well mentally.”

Reflecting on the team’s performance, Osimhen emphasized unity and resolve, noting the squad’s response after a disappointing cup loss to Gençlerbirliği.

“We fought together as a team. We disappointed our fans in the cup, but I’m proud of my teammates and happy with the win.”

The former Napoli striker was also clear about his role and confidence as a forward.
“Like every derby, I believe I can score against any team. That’s my responsibility, and I do it well. The team deserves praise—we showed we are ready.”

The win strengthens Galatasaray’s title push, opening a seven-point gap over Fenerbahçe with three games remaining in the Turkish Süper Lig.

Looking ahead, Osimhen stressed that focus remains crucial, starting with a tough fixture against Samsunspor.

“We’re closer to our championship goal now. Samsunspor is a strong team, and we want to win every remaining match.”
