The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially released the list of referees and Video Assistant Referees (VAR) for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Interestingly, no Nigerian referee made the cut. The list features 28 centre referees and 14 VAR officials, with host nation Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, and Mauritania each contributing two centre referees.
Among the VAR officials heading to Morocco are notable names such as Lahlou Benbraham (Algeria), Mahmoud Ashour (Egypt), Haythem Guirat (Tunisia), Hamza El Fariq (Morocco), and Djibril Camara (Senegal). 
The tournament will run from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026, kicking off with an exciting opening match between Morocco and Comoros in Rabat on Sunday, 21 December.
