Nigeria has been officially admitted into the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Grade A Coaching Convention, a major boost to the country’s football coaching development.
The approval was granted by CAF’s Coaching Education Project Manager, Jaida Zakaria, in a letter to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Before now, CAF had approved Nigeria to run the D, C and B coaching courses. The new development comes after the NFF waited nine years for authorization to host the elite CAF A coaching programme locally.
Reacting to the news, NFF Head of Coaching Education, Dr Terry Babatunde Eguaoje, described the approval as a significant milestone, noting that admission into the CAF A coaching convention further strengthens the federation’s coaching education framework.
With the approval secured, the NFF is expected to finalize logistics ahead of the commencement of the programme.
