Former Super Eagles midfielder Sunday Oliseh has shared his thoughts on the ongoing debate surrounding Mohamed Salah’s reduced role under new Liverpool manager Arne Slot.
Salah, who has been a key figure at Anfield for nearly a decade, recently expressed frustration after being benched for the third consecutive game—a move that has sparked widespread discussion.
Oliseh acknowledged Salah’s significance to both Liverpool and Egypt but criticized the decision to make his displeasure public.
“Salah has been Liverpool’s main man for almost a decade, similar to Messi at Barcelona,” Oliseh said.“Thierry Henry wasn’t signed by Barcelona to lead the team but to support Messi, Eto’o, and Iniesta. The way Salah is adored in Egypt, Henry never had that level of love in France.Salah has every right to feel unhappy, but going public was not the best approach.”
