Porto is reportedly looking to delay Zaidu Sanusi’s release for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Sanusi was named in Nigeria’s 28-man squad for AFCON by Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle on Thursday.
The club is expected to release the left-back after next Monday’s Portuguese league clash with Estrela. However, reports suggest Porto wants to keep him until December 18 for their Portuguese Cup tie against Famalicão.
FIFA has directed clubs to release players for AFCON by Monday, December 15.
Sanusi remains Nigeria’s first-choice left-back heading into the tournament.
