Remo Stars goalkeeper Serge Obassa has earned a spot in Benin Republic’s 30-man provisional squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. Obassa has been a regular for the Cheetahs since joining Remo Stars at the start of the 2024/25 season.
He will compete for the No. 1 jersey alongside Saturnin Allagbe and Dandjinou Marcel. Other key names in Gernot Rohr’s squad include captain Steve Mounie, Mohamed Tijani, Verdon Oliver, Djodel Dosou, Junior Olaitan, and Tosin Aiyegun.
Rohr is expected to trim the squad to 25 players next week. Preparations begin with a training camp in Ben Slimane, Morocco, on December 10. 
Benin are drawn in Group D with two-time champions Senegal, DR Congo, and Botswana.
