Moses Simon will not feature in Nigeria’s international friendly against Egypt on December 14. His club, Paris FC, has confirmed that no African players will be released for AFCON duties before that date.
The Super Eagles are scheduled to face the Pharaohs as part of their preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which kicks off in Morocco on December 21. Simon, one of Nigeria’s most experienced forwards, is widely expected to make the final AFCON squad.
However, the scheduling conflict means Simon must remain in France until December 14—the same day the friendly is set to take place—making his participation highly unlikely unless the fixture is rescheduled.
