Belgian Pro League club FCV Dender has officially confirmed that Nigerian defender Benjamin Fredrick has suffered a knee injury, ruling him out of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The injury occurred during training last Friday. In a statement on their official website, Dender announced:“Benjamin has suffered a knee injury. He is now beginning his rehabilitation in England at Brentford.”
Fredrick, 20, was expected to play a key role for Nigeria at AFCON after starting the Super Eagles’ last six matches. Unfortunately, the setback means he will miss the entire tournament.
