Former England striker Alan Shearer believes Manchester City remain Arsenal’s biggest threat in the Premier League title race.
City suffered a 2-1 defeat at Newcastle United over the weekend, while Arsenal cruised past Tottenham with a 4-1 win, extending their lead to seven points over Pep Guardiola’s side.
The Gunners are also six points ahead of Chelsea, who they face this weekend.
Speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast, Shearer said:
“I would still say City. We’ve seen them do it after Christmas before—they’re experienced and know what it takes. Defensively they’re not as strong as before, but they’ve been there and know what to expect.”
