AC Milan’s Fikayo Tomori Explains Why He Never Played for Nigeria.

Fikayo Tomori has revealed why he didn’t represent Nigeria at international level. According to the AC Milan defender, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) never sent him an official invitation, despite his eligibility.

Speaking on the Filthy Fellas Podcast, the 27-year-old, born in Calgary to Nigerian parents, said the lack of contact left him with only one clear option—England.

Tomori noted that while he has strong ties to Nigeria and friendships with Super Eagles stars like Ola Aina, Alex Iwobi, and Ademola Lookman, no approach was ever made by the NFF.

He started his international journey with Canada’s youth team before switching to England, eventually earning a spot in the senior squad. His breakthrough came during Chelsea’s 2019/2020 season under Frank Lampard, and he has since built a solid career in Serie A with AC Milan.

Reflecting on his choice, Tomori said:“It’s not like I wouldn’t have played there. But they never called me, so I never had a choice to make.”
