The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has given more details about its plan to fight the disciplinary sanctions from CAF following incidents during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final.
Morocco lost 1–0 to Senegal in extra time on January 18 in Rabat. More than a month later, the FRMF says it will contest CAF’s punishments, describing the sanctions on Morocco as unfair while calling those on Senegal too lenient.
In a statement after Thursday’s executive committee meeting, the federation announced it will hold a special session soon focused entirely on the AFCON final and the disciplinary decisions that followed.
“A special meeting will be dedicated to the Africa Cup of Nations in the coming days,” the statement said, adding that legal processes linked to the final are still ongoing.
The FRMF insists CAF’s Disciplinary Committee decisions were unjust to the Moroccan national team and vows to keep pursuing the matter through the right legal channels to defend football’s integrity and regulations.
