Coventry City are currently leading the chase for Brentford midfielder Frank Onyeka.
BBC football journalist Nizaar Kinsella reports that Coventry are hoping to complete the deal before the end of the transfer window.
Onyeka has found limited playing time at Brentford this season, making nine appearances in all competitions and yet to start a Premier League match.
The 28-year-old is keen on securing more regular minutes, prompting his interest in a move away. Brentford are said to be open to either a loan or permanent transfer.
Onyeka spent last season on loan at Bundesliga club Augsburg, and Championship sides Birmingham City and Sheffield United are also reportedly interested.
