Algeria Files Official Complaint After AFCON Quarter-Final Loss to Nigeria.

The Algerian Football Federation (FAF) has lodged an official complaint with FIFA and CAF following their 2-0 defeat to Nigeria in the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final.

FAF is challenging several refereeing decisions from last Saturday’s match, claiming they “raised serious questions” and sparked dissatisfaction among players, officials, and fans. The federation argues these calls undermine the credibility of African refereeing and tarnish the image of African football globally.

Their letter requests a formal investigation to review the disputed decisions and ensure corrective measures under CAF and FIFA regulations.

The game in Marrakech ended with clashes between Algerian and Nigerian players, while some Desert Foxes fans vandalized stadium property before being contained by security.

CAF has confirmed that an investigation into the incidents is already underway.
