Andre Onana and Vincent Aboubakar have been left out of Cameroon’s final squad for this month’s Africa Cup of Nations, sparking surprise and debate among fans and analysts.
Both players are among the Indomitable Lions’ most experienced names, but they won’t feature in the tournament. According to Fabrizio Romano: “André Onana and Vincent Aboubakar have been left out of the Cameroon squad for the AFCON.”
Onana, a top-level goalkeeper with experience at major European clubs, is currently on loan at Turkish side Trabzonspor after falling out of favor at Manchester United. Aboubakar, the veteran forward and former captain, has been a key figure for years.
Their absence signals a possible new direction under Cameroon’s refreshed leadership.
