Plateau United has deemed three of its longest-serving players surplus to requirements as part of its rebuilding process. Daniel Itodo, Jimmy Ambrose, and Charles Henlong, who have made over 537 appearances for the team, are the affected players. Itodo and Ambrose are NPFL title winners with the club, having lifted the trophy in 2017. The decision comes after the state government appointed a new management team, which recently hired young tactician Shola Adegun as the new head coach. Plateau United finished the 2023/2024 season in seventh position and is looking to revamp its squad.
